Arrowroot is a gluten-free thickening agent. It’s a starch with a neutral flavour and smooth texture, so it’s perfect for thickening everything from soups to glazes, gravy to pie fillings.

Dust vegetables, fish or meat in arrowroot before frying for a light and crispy coating.

Arrowroot powder tends to clump, so break up any lumps before measuring it out. Dissolve the arrowroot in a little cold water before adding to the liquid you wish to thicken.

One tablespoon of arrowroot will thicken approximately 240ml of liquid.
